Chocolate Chip Blondies

IMG_2139

It was Thursday yesterday, so that meant virtually no food in the house for lunches. So I had to get baking! My kids call these “crownies” as they are kind of a cross between a cookie and a brownie.

Chocolate Chip Blondies

In a large mixing bowl combine:

  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp egg replacer mixed with 6 tbsp water (or 1/2 cup plain unsweetened yogurt)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 and 1/2 cup brown sugar

In a separate bowl sift dry ingredients and then add to butter and sugar mixture. Mix well:

  • 2 and 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Then mix in:

2 cups choc chips

Spread in a 9 by 13 pan and Bake 350 F degrees for approximately 20 mins.

I’m going to adapt these for gluten free. I can’t have wheat or eggs. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. You are very welcome! I hope the recipes work well adapting for Gluten free.

I used plain yogurt Andy followed the recipe exactly. I don’t know where I went wrong… after 35 minutes at 325 degrees, the brownies were still not cooked. They were still bubbling in the center. Any thoughts on where I went wrong?

I used plain yogurt and followed the recipe exactly. I don’t know where I went wrong… baked for 20 minutes, toothpick came out clean, but color was not golden like your picture. Didn’t want to overlook it either. Where could I have gone wrong?

    1. Is this the recipe you are inquiring about? Because these Blondies are supposed to be baked 20 minutes at 350 degrees F. It could take a couple more minutes than 20. What size pan did you use? 9 by 13 gives the right thickness.

Hi .. could I have the grams measurements ? It’s more exact then

    1. Here are the amounts of the main ingredients. I assume you still use teaspoons?

      330 g brown sugar
      320 g flour
      350 g chocolate chips
