Spicy Chocolate Cookies

IMG_0166

We made these for Cinco de Mayo. They are chocolately with a nice kick to them. You could also make my Key Lime Pie Cupcakes for a nice dessert that would go well with a Mexican theme. (https://myegglessworld.wordpress.com/2013/07/21/key-lime-pie-cupcakes/)

Spicy Chocolate cookies

Cream together:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup Nutella (you can replace this with melted chocolate chips if you are nut allergic)

Then add:

  •  1/2 cup plain yogurt (equivalent to 2 eggs)
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Mix well and then add sifted dry ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch cayenne pepper

Once the dry ingredients are mixed in, add a generous cup of chocolate chips and mix again.

Spoon onto parchment lined baking sheets. Bake 350 degrees F for approximately 10 minutes.
